The meaning of Beauty, part 3.

Beauty is often invisible. We can see it during ordinary situations. Sometimes it is so ,,normal” that we don’t pay attention to it.
Happens that beauty is mix with ugliness. For example, someone with a difficult character lives in a beautiful, large and modern house and always buys new things. Unfortunately, this person is alone and don’t have any friends with whom can share his life. Another example can be a man who lives in a miserable house, without any facilitation, but he is always ready to help other people. He also spent time with his family, because he knows how important value it is. He is just honest and happy.
In general, beauty is subjective. Of course, some aspects can have an impact on our point of view, but in the end, we decide ourselves what we like. True beauty should affect our emotions. Physical appearance will go away with time, but the inner beauty will remain forever. We must try to improve ourselves. We also need to accept the differences of beauty between people. In the book Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery there are really meaningful words: ,,Here is my secret. It is very simple: it is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye”.

The meaning of Beauty, part.2

There are different canons of beauty in various cultures. People, in general, admire the same things, because the history of a certain society has built a vision of beauty. The canons of beauty are changing with time, for example, when we look at the paintings of the baroque, we can see women with irregular shapes, considered as a perfect example of women’s nature.
The beauty gives a prestige and helps in daily life. That is not right, but unfortunately, this is true. Then, we need to say that beautiful things are also very expensive, and not everyone has the money to buy them, so we can say that money, in a certain way, defines beauty.
I’m happy that exist people who are natural, accept themselves, and they are happier than others because they don’t care about new shoes or the Gucci bag. They are beautiful inside. They have the beautiful character, the great morality, they help others, enjoy not only nature but also all that surrounds them.

The meaning of Beauty, part 1

There are so many questions related to the aspect of beauty. What does this mean in reality? Is it possible to be beautiful in every aspect of life? Is it about the face or the character? What does it mean to be beautiful? It is difficult to determine what it really is, but in this text, I would like to find the answers to these questions, but I also want to present my point of view. Beauty exists both the inner and the outer one. Today the second one is considered more important than the first one, especially among the young. A more important and more significant thing is the fact that we can imagine it in an infinite variety. We see it in people, in nature and in everyday situations. It fascinates us and surprises us.

When we see someone for the first time, at first, we look at their physical appearance. We judge their  hairs, their eyes, their smiles, but also their clothes.

Sometimes,  we can see that beauty depends on points of view and we can say that it is subjective. Then it has to be said that the mass media create the canon of beauty. They tell us what we can consider beauty and admire it and what we have to stop doing or dress. On TV, in the newspapers are always tall and thin models without any defect. As a result, women want to be like those perfect- girls, so they move into diet; go to the gym, and what’s more, they also do the plastic operations or have the problems with anorexia and psychic disorders. Our world today doesn’t accept ugliness….

Alivia- Oncology Foundation for Young People

Alivia- Oncology Foundation for Young People it’s a foundation based in Warsaw, which help people over 18 years old who have cancer. The foundation was established in 2010 and the founder of  it is Bartosz Poliński, the brother of Agata Polińska who in 2007 was diagnosed with advanced cancer.

The main goals of the Alivia Foundation are:

-          protection and promotion of health in the camp of oncology

-          supporting diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation activities in the area of ​​oncology,

-          social assistance, including assistance for people with disabilities whose disability results from oncology diseases or effects of their treatment,

-          actions to improve the availability and treatment standards of cancer

-          supporting science and education in the field of oncology

-          charity work for oncology patients and their families

,,The Fault in Our Stars".

Last week I watched a film ,,The Fault in Our Stars”. It’s romantic tragedy directed by Josh Boone in 2014. The movie is based on the novel of the same name, written by John Green.

The main character is Hazel, a sixteen-year-old girl who has cancer. Her parents wrote down her to support group where she met Augustus who was also suffered from the same disease. They fall in love with each other, and they start live their dreams about normal life. It’s hard to do totally everything because their health problems sometimes are obstacles. They support each other, what makes their life easier, and they can just for a minute, forget about this fatal disease.

I was touched by all this situation on this movie.  It’s very sad, and I was crying a lot during watching a film. The story is credible and can happen at any time to anyone. We need to remember that it’s important to appreciate a little thing in our life because nothing is permanent. This film shows us life’s injustice.

A short story

The situation took place last week. I had an argument with my best friend, Sue. We had a different perception of the life at that moment. I was really sad for that and I decided to go to the restaurant. I had to think about it. I was drinking a tea when suddenly one man came to me, and he asked to sit with me. I was surprised and I didn't want to talk with him.

- ,,What are you doing? I said no!"

-,,You have a problem, I see it. I'm older and I have a lot of experience in life. I will help you, I promise. I just want to talk"- he said and smiled. ,,By the way, I'm John"

At that moment I felt something weird. I had a sensation that I knew him all my life. I have told him about the situation with my friend and then he told me the story of his friendship. He met Tom when he was twenty, and they quickly became friends. One day, John had a car accident, and he spent a few months in the hospital. Tom visited him and took care about his mentally health. Others John’s ,,friends'' forgot about him, sometimes only phoned to him, but they didn't visit him when he needed them. Having a lot of time to think, he understood that Tom was his best friend. They are love each other even when they are arguing. They shared all their lives moment together. Unfortunately, Tom died last month. John goes to his grave every day ,and he feels an emptiness in his heart. He lost the part of himself, but he knows that in some way they are still together.

His story was affecting. I realized that I love Sue and I had to apologize to her. Our friendship is important to me and I know, Sue is a person who wants my happiness anyway.  John helped me to understand how important is our friendship.

A short story

It was a sunny day in May. My school organised school competition. This event took place at a local stadium. There were not only a lot of students who take part in this championship but also five referees and our teachers.

Our team prepared competitions in five sports disciplines: baseball, cycling, hammer throw, table tennis and volleyball. There were approximately 100 contestants. The first competition was cycling. The participants must bestride race about 20 kilometres. When cyclists started distance, a lot of people was standing near the road to cheer them on.

The average speed was 40km/ h, and everyone wanted and tried to win. Everyone competed but Tom Angel was in the lead. He had only 2 kilometres at the blanket finish and he was exhausted when suddenly, one of supporter, a little child, run across the road. The cyclist was dispersed, and he tried to go around him because he didn't want to hit him. Unfortunately, Tom plummeted. It was a very dangerous situation for both of them. The child was scared and started crying and Tom had a small scratch. Tom, of course, didn't win a competition, but he wasn’t sad. After this situation, he went with a little boy and his parents to eat a big ice-creams.

,,A Dangerous Creature’’

A short sory about "dangerous creature".

It happened during last summer night in August. The moon was shining and there are a lot of stars in the sky. We went to the Tatra Mountains for a night trip. We wanted to organise this excursion earlier, but we did it barely then.
That night we dressed suitable clothes, took a blanket (if the weather would be bad, we’d be able to warm up in the mountain refuge), made a food and took a torch of course. We left the hotel after twilight. We hadn’t known yet that we would meet a ,,creature’’.
Each of us had only a torch, which light show us a good way. The men told us (women) a horrible story about ghosts, zombies and other strange ,,dangerous’’ creature. They wanted take fright us, but we know their sense of humor and it didn’t make an impression on us. Suddenly we heard some weird sound in the depths of the forest. We scared but we tried keep calm. What would happen if we met a bear?! The steps become louder and louder. After a few seconds, from behind the tree jumped out the reason for all the confusion – small ginger squirrel. It was our ,,dangerous creature’’.
Tom horrify shouted when he saw her. Everyone laughed without him. It was shocking to us because he always was brave and self- confident. After all attractions, we came to the hotel in the morning. It was an unforgettable night. We love that journey and now we are planning next night outgoing.

,,The Great Beauty"

This week I watched a film ,,The Great Beauty” directed by Paolo Sorrentino in 2013. The film took place in Rome and the main character is a journalist Jep Gambardella. After his 65 birthday he finds him in self-reflection between past and the future. He is convenient that anything is certain in life and people aren’t  able to find the goal of their life. Jep found out absurd of his previous life and it is a sad reality for him. He also wants to write his second book, but he can’t find the topic of it. People in this movie want to find the place where they belong but it isn’t so easy. In this film, we can see also beautiful places in Rome and in general the beauty of life- places, people, clothes and luxury. I really recommend this film!

,,Gomorrah"

Hello,

Last week I watched a film „Gomorrah” directed by Matteo Garrone in 2008, based on the book ,,Gomorrah” written by Roberto Saviano. The film tells the story about mob from Naples which is called Comorra. The movie shows five different people whose lives are connected with a crime organisation. We can see how this crime world function. For that people from Comorra don’t exist law. They are brutal,  ruthless and the only value in their life is money.

It’s a true story of these ages but it’s really hard to believe that all these situations still happen these days. It isn’t only a fiction story from the past.  The clique from Naples killed a lot of people who were ,,obstacles” for them. During watching the movie I was shocked of same scenes but I have to say that the it was very interesting. I think that everyone who wants to know how works  the world of mafia should see it.
