New Year

Hello,

Today I was wondering about New Year’s Eve and also about New Year and I think it’s interesting that people make New Year’s resolution. Why is New Year a good time to change something? The answer is easy, people believe that during next 365 days their life will change for better, and they are trying to be their best self. They promise themselves that they will improve their life in the coming year. The wishes have many forms, everyone chooses whatever it wants to. New Year brings with it new possibilities, new chances, new friends, new dreams, etc. It’s all true because anything can happen. But everyone should remember that at any time we can change something in our life.
Happy New Year. Live your dreams!

,,As far as my feet will carry me."

Hello,

I watched a film,, As far as my feet will carry me”, yesterday. It is a movie directed by Hardy Martins. It is a story, based on fact, about German soldier Clemens Forrell who during II World War, was sentenced to 25 years of forced labor in lead mine in Siberia. The main character, subjected to the brutality of the camp and terrible climate, decided to escape. For the next three years, he traveled a thousand miles across Siberia and other countries. He tried to survive and come back home. During this time he had to overcome many difficulties and obstacles.
It is a very touching film which shows us not only very strong desire to live but also, the brutal part of the Soviets.

Here is a link to the trailer for the film:

Foreign languages

Hello,

Why is it a great idea to study foreign languages? Sometimes it’s very hard because we have to learn a lot of new words, grammar and it takes a lot of our free time but it’s worth it.

Here are 10 reasons why I think it’s important:
1. It is easier to get a job.
2.We can meet people and make friends around the world.
3.We can travel in a different place without a tour guide.
4.We can be more open to other cultures.
5.We can appreciate the story.
6. We can increase our self- control.
7. Learning foreign language can improve our first language.
8. It develops confidence.
9. We can impress people around us.

10.It gives a lot of satisfaction.

Bologna

Hello,

Today I would like to write something about Bologna. It’s the city where I’ve been living for 6 months, during my Erasmus.
Bologna is a capital of Emiglia - Romagna Region. It’s perfect place to visit because there are a lot of things to see. It’s a city of the oldest university in the world, University of Bologna, founded in 1088. There are a lot of students from Italy but also from other countries.
It has three nicknames: la dotta (the learned), la grassa (the fat - it’s related to cuisine) and la rossa (the typical red color of the roofs). The food it’ s very considerable there.
Bologna is an important artistic and cultural center. The most popular tourist attractions are Piazza Maggiore and Piazza di Nettuno (the main town squares); Basilica of St. Petronius; Leaning Towers; St. Stephen Basilica; Archaeological Museum; St. Dominic Church; Basilica of San Pietro, National Gallery.

What can be done to install principles of healthy lifestyle into young people?

Hello,

What can be done to install principles of healthy lifestyle into young people?

The most effective ways to install principles of a healthy lifestyle into young people are:  parents authority on this topic at home, a rich program of different sports activities at school and sports camps. First of all, for young people is very important to have authority at home, for example, their parents which help them to develop their knowledge about major principles and results of a healthy lifestyle. Secondly, when the school has a rich program of sports, teenagers have a lot of possibilities to spend their time in an active way. They can enjoy their time playing together with other schoolmates. Thirdly, sports camp are a perfect idea, because during this kind of events youth not only practise athletics but also eat healthy meals, and they can learn how to connect this two aspects to live  a healthy lifestyle. In brief, it is possible to install principles of healthy lifestyles into young people in different effective ways.

Hello,
Last week I watched the film: ,, The boy in the striped pyjamas”. It’s about eight- years- old Bruno, son of commandant  on German concentration camp. Boy made friend with a Jewish boy on the other side of the camp fence.  This friendship had unexpected consequences at the end.
The film is very touching and shows the simple feeling  between two boys in the same age, shows friendship without borders, prejudices and hatred. The world of Second World War was cruel, people was cruel and these two young boys give  us the example of essence of humanity in difficult time. It’s example of  appropriate way to treat others…

I think it is well presented film and I really recommend it, because it’s leading to thoughts about our life.

Museum

Hello,

Last time I’ve been in museum two years ago. It was a museum of modern art. I have to say that it’s a specific kind of art, because sometimes artworks are incomprehensible or they could have a few ways to interpretation. For example: square with the black point in the middle of the picture. In that museum where I was,  were a piece of art composed of vertical line with six or seven packs of ketchup. I remember it very well, because it shocked me. It was totally unexpected  for me to see packs of ketchup in the museum. I didn’t understand the intention of artist.  This is the reason why I prefer classic art with nature and people  in the picture.

What is the real definition of beauty?

Hello!

During my latest lesson of Italian speaking, we were talking about beauty.  It is quiet difficult to find a real definition of this word, because everyone can have different point of view for this issue.  Beauty has a lot of names: it can be nature, appearance, character, poetry, ecc, but I totally agree with the sentence from the book ,, The little Prince” of Antoine de Saint- Exupery, that the most important beauty is inside us, because ,, what is essential is invisible to the eye”.
What do you think about that?

" The Girl with Seven Names"

Hello,
Today I would like to write about book that I read one month ago. It’s ,, The Girl with Seven Names. Escape from North Korea” written by Hyeonseo Lee.
I had always been curious about North Korea because I having heard a lot about this country and about dictatorship of Kim Dzong Un and Kim Dzong Il before.
This book is autobiography of a young woman which describe her childhood, her life in China, escape to South Korea and getting out of North Korea her mother and brother. She is a very brave woman and she had made a lot of difficult choices to be free. It’s excellent, interesting and touching book that I recommended for anyone.
You can see below a full description of book.
“As a child growing up in North Korea, Hyeonseo Lee was one of millions trapped by a secretive and brutal communist regime. Her home on the border with China gave her some exposure to the world beyond the confines of the Hermit Kingdom and, as the famine of the 1990s struck, she began to wonder, question and to realise that she had been brainwashed her entire life. Given the repression, poverty and starvation she witnessed surely her country could not be, as she had been told “the best on the planet”?

Aged seventeen, she decided to escape North Korea. She could not have imagined that it would be twelve years before she was reunited with her family. She could not return, since rumours of her escape were spreading, and she and her family could incur the punishments of the government authorities – involving imprisonment, torture, and possible public execution. Hyeonseo instead remained in China and rapidly learned Chinese in an effort to adapt and survive.

Twelve years and two lifetimes later, she would return to the North Korean border in a daring mission to spirit her mother and brother to South Korea, on one of the most arduous, costly and dangerous journeys imaginable. This is the unique story not only of Hyeonseo’s escape from the darkness into the light, but also of her coming of age, education and the resolve she found to rebuild her life – not once, but twice – first in China, then in South Korea. Strong, brave and eloquent, this memoir is a triumph of her remarkable spirit.”   [https://www.booktopia.com.au/the-girl-with-seven-names-hyeonseo-lee/prod9780007554850.html]
